Fallout from the biggest Monday in years!
It’s Tuesday morning, and I am one of the only individuals in the wrestling world to have NOT watched either WWE Monday Night RAW or TNA Impact. I will be going over both in the days to come and forming an educated opinion of what’s next, but The Progressive Pro Wrestling Fan aims to start a discussion with this question:
What is the next step TNA should take to capitalize off of any gains in viewership from this past Impact?

I haven’t watched Raw in its entirety yet. But Impact was great in the second and third hours. The first hour kind of sucked, and it probably cost them the momentum.
While both endings should have been predictable, I think the TNA one does more to build intrigue. Everyone has been expecting McMahon and Hart to feud, but all early indicators pointed to a babyface Hogan and Dixie battling heels Jarrett and Foley. Well, looks like Hogan’s the heel now.
You’re right. I think what is missed here is that the cliche thing to say is “X company needs to push their younger stars”. A properly done storyline could work with all of the young TNA stars and the cameos from last night, but at this point it doesn’t need to be old vs new. It just needs to be about personality conflicts and give each main character a distinct position. I could see a fun angle with Hogan being pulled by his old friends to clear the way for them, and his struggle with that. All the while Sting is watching them from the rafters and any mixture of Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Desmond Wolfe, Kurt Angle, Daniels, and Samoa Joe, Amazing Red battles it out over both main titles. Have Beer Money and British Invasion battle over the tag titles and Nasty Boys and Team 3D work the second match on the card at a pay-per-view after a build.
That sounds fun to me. It also sounds like a direction TNA should go. Everyone has their role and gets equal time in the scenario. Why am I not hired yet? :o)
I would love to see TNA get a good shareof the market!! I like part of what Jarret is doing but I don’t want to see his wallet get busted by bringing back all the relics either!!if they want to be a part of the industy, they’ll make great managers, but I want to see more new talent.
I’m with you to some degree. Some of those guys still have their legs, like X-Pac, and could make decent matches with some of the new guys. I’m sorry if I am the only one, but I am kinda interested in Nasty Boys vs 3D, haha.
I thought the TNA show was a lot better than what I thought it would be. Some ups and some downs but in the end I was more entertained that what WWE offered the same night even with the Bret Hart and Shawn deal…though I have to say I did turn to WWE to watch that but after it was done I was back to TNA
I have seen a lot of polls that suggest that overall TNA was the more enjoyed show of the two by pro wrestling fans. The question is whether they smooth out the rough edges and dump what didn’t work in favor for what did.
